I just had to retire my second pair of the KomodoSports for the same reason: left big-toe blowout. Not sure if it is because I stick to trails (stubbing toes happen) or if there is a design flaw but like clockwork both pairs failed after 4 1/2 months and about 350-400 miles each. The shoes still had plenty of tread and with no-cushion to go wrong, they should last longer but the fabric just is not durable enough. Hopefully the Spyridon will be better, til then it is back to the KSOs.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas. He loves them!! He's begun using them in his workouts and noticies a huge difference (for the better). Absolutely NO discomfort or blisters. Only tricky part is sizing, fortunately he tried some on in a local store and we were able to purchase the correct size online. I ordered some for my 11 year old son as well, and followed the sizing instructions and it was way off. His foot measurement dictated a kids size 34, but when he opened them on Christmas he couldn't even get them on. We had no trouble returning them for a refund. Only bummer was that I had to pay for return shipping. Overall, VERy happy with my entire shopping experience with CitySports.

First, a note on sizing... I had previously purchased the KSO in a size 38 and they were an exact fit, although they shrunk ever so slightly after I washed them and are now just a little snug...
Because of that experience, I decided to go ahead and try the Komodo Sport in a 40 (smallest size made) thinking that between a little shrinkage and wearing socks with them, I could probably make them work. I was amazed to find that they are a perfect fit even when worn barefoot!
I know some have said they are sized like the KSO, but for me it required sizing up.
As for the shoes themselves, they are now my favorite pair of VFF's, thanks to the seamless, super soft, felt-like footbed and the incredibly soft, stretchy uppers.
Ground feel is noticeably less than the KSO or Treksport, but still feels great and actually makes these more versatile if you take them off road.
Will have to test them further, but after 12 straight hours of wearing this weekend around town and out for some rough hiking, my feet stayed completely dry, even without socks.
Another plus with these is that the styling and accents are done in a way that actually distracts from the "toe shoe" look that normally draws attention. I haven't caught anyone giving the double-take glances at these like I always get with the KSO.
Bottom line: So long as less ground feel doesn't bother you, these are probably the best Vibram has to offer.

i bought the komodo a few months ago, but it was kind of small. I continue to force wear because they felt good to work out in. But i'm back to get the right size! i recommend getting a size bigger than your actual size.

I ordered the same size as my KSO's and they fit the same which is good. I can feel the thicker sole on the Komodosports and they have more traction than my KSO's which is what I wanted for different activities like adventure races. I still love my KSO's and recommend those as well, I wear them all the time for working out and some running. I plan on using my Komodosports more for running and anything that would require a lot of side to side movement or something where a little extra traction would help. Regarding the side to side movement the Komodosports don't allow my foot to move as much inside of them as my KSO's. I was torn between the Komodosport and the Bikila for my next pair of fivefingers so I finally just picked one. I've never tried on a pair of Bikila's but I'm very happy with the choice I made and look forward to a lot of good training in them.
