I live in Hawaii and use these shoes all the time. They hold up really well, keeps most of the sand out, and prevents tearing up my feet on the bottom. I even go to the point of suggesting them to friends and family when they visit us.

I like my Flows for winter running, but they are kind of clammy and definitely much tighter than my KSO trek's and Bikilas. I think these are probably perfect for kayaking and water sports-- but I just like having them around as a cold-weather option in general!

I use these kayaking, and they're perfect. Stay on my feet even when practicing open water re-rentry in choppy seas, and keep my feet comfortable. Fit a little tighter in the toes than my other VFFs (classic and KSO), but sizing seems comparable to KSO. Don't think I'd wear them for cold-weather dry use though -- my feet get a little moist/clammy in them, even when I manage to slide in a pair of injinji socks.
