I used this bag for a couple of months with my Manduka Lite mat. The mat would slip out of the straps, and the straps actually stretched out. The bag also tore at the spots were the handles were connected. This was not durable enough as an all-purpose gym/yoga bag. I ditched the bag, and now carry my mat using a strap.

I like the bag and the only thing I wish it had is a small shoulder pad on the straps.
