I bought a pair of Karhu Forward Fulcrum Rides last July thinking I would only use them for racing. They ended up being my go-to shoe for nearly every run. Although they're lightweight--even in a men's 13--they provide exceptional support and durability. As a triathlete, I tend to do the majority of my running without socks, but I never experienced any hot spots or blistering due to the seamless construction. In fact, I did several half-ironmans last year and never experienced any discomfort on the run--as least in terms of my feet. They also provide enough cushioning while still allowing me to have a feel for the road. However, if you're a runner who likes a very plush ride, you may want to pass on these shoes. After having put nearly 300 miles on them, I've bought another pair. There are other shoes in running arsenal, but these are definitely my "weapon" of choice.
