I purchased the original KSO and after I wore them out, another set of KSOs but I was never really happy with them. The construction quality caused blisters from the interior seams, the exterior seams came undone, etc. The second set of KSOs were just unwearable so I gave them to a friend. (He is still wearing them after a year. Go figure.) I'd seen several reviews of these TREK LS shoes and all gave them high scores. I've always preferred leather over synthetic anyway so I decided to give Vibram one more chance. I am glad I did. I received these brown TREK LS shoes yesterday and put five miles on them right out of the box and they performed magnificently; no blisters, no hot spots, no nuttin'. Like any new leather shoe they are a bit stiff but, like any other leather shoe, after several miles they will become very comfortable. I wear size 46 and the fit is almost perfect; after the leather stretches a bit, I'll have room for Injinji socks if I decide to use them. The lacing system allows custom fitting over the arches, vastly superior to stretching a material over a generalized foot shape. One comment on a reviewing blog said they were "butt ugly." Well, beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. These kangaroo leather shoes are beautiful. The Wife Unit rolled her eyes upon seeing them but, eh, one has noticed over the years some people just have no appreciation for fine art. An hour ago I ordered another set, this time in black. Vibram did very good job this time around. Kudos.
