I was skeptical but bought my first pair to help with my sciatica pain, in which back exercises were not helping. It is gone, the pain still comes back occasionally if i wear "normal" shoes. Now I have
four pairs of these and wear them to work as well!

I started running with VFF Classics a bit over a year ago, just before I turned 60. It took a couple bad starts and injuries before I got the hang of not striking either my heels or toes (Chi Running and Walking helped a lot). But last year I had to quit outdoor running in cold weather. Two days ago, just as it was getting too cold for my VFF Classics with Injinji toe socks, I went searching online and learned about the new Bikila. Only City Sport had them in my size--and with free shipping. They arrived in time for my next run. I wore the wool Injinji socks and my feet were warm enough. But on top of that, the Bikila's really kicked it up a notch--not only for running, but especially when I alternate with race-walking. Somehow they feel much smoother than the Classics, which are more jarring with the walking stride. I was worried that by having thicker soles and more structure, the Bikilas would be too much like regular shoes and less like the barefoot experience, but they seem to be a perfect balance of protection (from hot and cold pavement, glass and pebbles) but still give that exhilirating barefoot feeling. I'd just like to see some other colors.
Kudos to CitySports for the free and fast shipping. Even though I live near a store, this was so much quicker, easier, and convenient.

When I first opened the shoebox, I was a little bit timid about putting these shoes on. They were a little hard to put on the first time (tough to separate the toes into their own "pockets").. but once I put them on, I didn't want to take them off! Went straight to the gym and ran 2.7 miles on the treadmill in them. LOVE THEM. I didn't want to stop running, but was forced to because of an old blister. =X I would recommend these shoes to any runners, or anyone for that matter! I run an average of 12-16 miles per week.
